Hyundai Open Golf Tournament 2019: Tashi wins trophy

Laxmi InterContinental Pvt. Ltd. the authorized distributor of the Hyundai vehicles for Nepal organized annual HYUNDAI Open Golf Tournament on 15th & 16th March 2019, at GOKARNA GOLF RESORT. The tournament sponsored by Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd where there were 108 golfers’ participants. The tournament was played under stableford format with 3/4 handicap. South Korean Ambassador His Excellency Park Young Sik, Chairman of Laxmi Group Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha, and President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament.

Tashi Dong won the won the HyundaiOpen Golf Tournament here at Gokarna Golf Club. Dong two handicap amateur golfer carded six birdies in route to scoring 39 points and winning the trophy on the count back after being tied with Madhav Simkhada, who played with five handicap but on the count back Dong’s 19 points helped him to win a trophy and Garmin approach S 60 Premium GPS Golf Watch and Bushnell V4 Range finder worth Rs. 120,000. Madhav only got 17 on the back nine and settled for runner-up trophy and Garmin S 60 GPS Golf Watch. Sangam KC was second runner-up with 38 on the count back after being tied with Bharat Bastakoti. KC scored 20 on the back nine against 18 of Bastakoti, he got Garmin approach S20 GPS Golf watch.

Tashi Tshiring scored 38 gross points to win the best gross title. His card also had six birdies and he got Garmin approach S60 premium GPS Golf watch. Gopal Chitrakar was winner among senior golfers age 60 and above with 37 points, Sadbhav Acharya was junior winner with 19 points in nine holes. Kalyani Moktan won the ladies title after being tied with Rekha Ghimire at 30 point, her 14 on the back nine was two-clear of Ghimire. All three category winners got Garmin approach S20 GPS Golf watch.

Sameer Acharya scored 38 points to win the category of Hyundai car winner’s category, Gaurab Shah got closest to the pin, Sam Doublard got longest drive and Tashi Dong got the most birdies on the count back after bring tied at six birdies with Tashi Tshiring, they all got Garmin approach S 20 GPS Golf Watch.
